3 Phase Voltage & Current Logger EC-6VA
Used by electrical contractors, power distribution companies, facilities management, electrical or site-services and maintenance engineers to
monitor power (kW)/energy (kWh) usage, check voltage and current variations helping them to diagnose any related issues, or to gather data perhaps to make representations to their power supplier.
Extensively used for UPS sizing and monitoring and standby generator sizing and monitoring.
As the product records both voltage and current, users can determine if low voltage is related to high current demands on site, or if the low voltage is being supplied to the site. The Rogowski Coils fit around cables of 140mm diameter
cables.
Note, the Rogowski Coils break open at the black joint, allowing them to be
placed around the cables without having to break the main circuit.

EC-6VA-FK, ~4A to 400A (90kVA per phase,
270kVA total) EC-6VA-**-KIT includes logger (1), voltage leads
(4), Rogowski Coils (3), USB lead (1), software (1) and carry case (1).
When only a single phase voltage supply is easily accessible, the EC-6VA can
still be used to monitor and record 3 phase energy, using three current inputs
and a single phase voltage input, rather than the normal 3 voltage inputs. Voltage Optimisation (Voltage
Optimization). Recording Current Only with the EC-6VA Range
EC-6VA-1K,
~10A to 1kA (230kVA per phase, 690kVA total)
EC-6VA-2K,
~15A to 2kA (460kVA
per phase, 1.4MVA total)
EC-6VA-3K,
~20A to 3kA (690kVA per phase, 2MVA total)
All Electrocorders use a constant sampling technique, meaning they sample every cycle multiple times,
missing very little data! Many, many other brands do not, they simply sleep for 99.99% of the time, waken to take a sample, then sleep; they miss 99.99% of the data! How can you perform a load survey when 99.99% of the load data is missing?
The average voltage supply from the UKs National Grid is often higher than the
ideal operating voltage for most electrical equipment like lighting and motors.
For example, a 230V linear appliance used on a 240V supply will take 4.3% more
current and will consume almost 9% more electricity. Multiply that across all
the appliances in your organisation and that soon adds up. Sites fitted with a
voltage optimisation system often achieve reductions in the region of
10-20% for energy consumption, costs and carbon emissions! The first step in
voltage optimisation is to monitor and know your present incoming voltage
levels, the Electrocorder allows you to determine this.
When the EC-6VA is logging it normally takes its power from the
attached mains inputs, so does not use its batteries. You can however use it to
log current only, there are a couple of things you must bear in mind:-
1) the batteries will suffer and
probably only last a week, this is due to the constant sampling method, see the
datasheet.
2) there will be no indication of 'recording' (flashing green LED) nor
any
indication of 'stopped recording' (steady red LED).
3) please also remember the loggers tend to have a current reading floor, below
which the logger will not see any current (reads it as zero).
We always recommend using external power; some users simply gain
access to a 230V single phase supply to give the logger power and therefore
preserve the batteries.
